Let me preface this by saying that I am NOT a morning person. Ideally, I'd like to be able to sleep in till 8:00 every morning. After that point, I can wake up and get moving almost immediately. Any time before that, and it takes me longer to get moving. And the earlier in the morning you force to rise, the longer it takes me to become a functioning human being. After 7:00, I'm pretty good, I can even be moving and fully alert within an hour if I have to get up at 6:00. The problem is before 6:00. Some deep, psychological, phenomenon occurs between 5:59 and 6:00. Since the dawn of (my) time, the morning hours before 6:00 have not existed.
I felt no great loss over this. This year, however, the job requires me to get up at 5:30, in order to be out the door by 6:45 and arriving at work by 7:00. Some time during the inservice week before school started, one of my coworkers commented, "Welcome to the club. You'll grow to hate 5:00am as much as the rest of us." How true, how true. This particular "whine" will occur again throughout the year. Those people who said, "You'll get used to it" understimate my distaste of the predawn hours on my alarm clock.
Now that I've let that out, I'll follow by saying that I'm unusually tired tonight. The I-want-to-stay-curled-up-on-the-couch-and-not-move type. Which is exactly what I plan to do for the rest of the night.
I leave you with yet another picture of our "baby." Kevin has taken on the role of new father and snaps a picture of the poor thing every time she sleeps in what he deems a cute position, or plays in a cute way, or sits in a cute way. To see all the photos, you would think she is the cutest 10 year old cat ever. So here she is....being cute...again.

Hmpf! That is not true! It's been months since I took a picture of her, and she usually runs away anyway.
Shall we trot out the picture taken on Labor Day of you kissing her? It was obvious she enjoyed THAT one...
