I teach 4th grade. The following is an actual test question and actual student response. This child, bless him, doesn't get points for accuracy, but he gets major "points" for making me laugh out loud:
Q: The Pilgrims came to America for ____________ ____________ (religious freedom)
A: "New things and dinner"
I have to say, that moment was one of those little job perks. :-)
