Tada!

As I referred to in the last post, it's amazing how quickly the last month has passed...and how quickly time continues to move. It's been a week since I updated, but it honestly hasn't felt that long.

We went to PA this weekend, to visit my family. Both my parents have birthdays within a week of each other, so we drove up there to visit and celebrate their birthdays. On Saturday morning we were lazy and then went to the Adams County Winery and had a wine tasting. We bought some wine to share (I had an apple wine...soooooo good) and sat out at the picnic tables outside to chat and enjoy our purchase. Then we went to lunch at Appalachian Brewing Company for some great food. After which, we needed to walk off some of that great food, so we spent two hours wandering around Gettysburg, mostly visiting the antique shops, but really stopping into whatever store caught our fancy. Went home for a little while and then took my parents to dinner at Bill Bateman's. All in all, we ate alot over the weekend. The drive up and back is nice too. We both spend alot of time rushing around or working on the computer during the week and so we get less time to just chat than both of us would like. 2 five hour trips in the car was a nice catch-up.

This start of this week has been a little more stressful. I've met with 3 different parents in the last 2 days, one of which was unannounced. Today was my first formal administrative observation which, I think, went well. However, I don't have any feedback yet and this of course makes me anxious. Not because it's a bad sign, but because I like the immediate feedback so that I know right away both the good news and the bad news and I can go about fixing the bad news. But nothing yet. So I wait. I have a specialist coming in to observe a new girl (to my classroom, not the building) that moved into my room this past week. Her parents don't want to continue Special Ed services, so the process of reviewing her IEP and whether or not she should still be recommended for services is beginning. To add to all this craziness, today was school picture day, which somehow always has the kids in an excited tizzy. Then...I have an observation with the district math coordinator tomorrow. And a class tomorrow night. And then, thank goodness, the second half of the week looks much more low-key.

I convinced Kevin to come to Cici's tonight for dinner. It's family night for the school. Which works for me, because I'm a closet pizza fanatic.

Hopefully another update before a week has passed. Tomorrow is Wednesday! Halfway through the week!

Just keep swimming, just keep swimming, swimming, swimming, swimming....
