The Good News and the Bad News

Here it is, folks, the result of scientific study:

The Bad News: Holiday stress CAN actually make you ill

The Good News: It's been proven that retail therapy CAN actually be therapeutic, due to the release of "feel good" hormones.


Well, duh.


What happens, though, if you're one of those people who is stressed out by holiday shopping? What do THOSE people do for therapy?

THOSE people try my peppermint hot chocolate. Milk with chocolate syrup, heated warm, an ounce of peppermint schnapps, whipped cream, and a pirouette cookie.

In Wisconsin, we used to call that beverage "Peppermint Patties"...of course, we brought the schnapps into the Badger games in brown paper bags and bought their version of hot chocolate and made it ourselves in the stands. No whipped cream or pirouette cookies or Ensigns serving it in dress uniform to you in bed. But it did in a cold snap.
