Confucius Says...

"The best and safest thing is to keep a balance in your life, acknowledge the great powers around us and in us. If you can do that, and live that way, you are really a wise man. "

Actually, it was Euripides. Smart man.

Today seemed to be just a jumble of aggravations:

  • It's a Monday, need I say more?
  • Having not slept well last night, I hit the snooze button on the alarm and was running behind from the get-go this morning.
  • The VB SPCA called our home phone while we were both at work today and left a cryptic message saying there was a question about the application and could we please call? I had to listen to the message twice just to get the phone number (the woman spoke as if she had 3 seconds to get the message out) and I still can't understand the name. Of course, it was 5:30 by the time I got home and the office closed at 4, so..... now we just have to wait till tomorrow.
  • I worked, whether at home or at school, until from 7:30 am until 8pm tonight.
  • I seriously left my intelligence by the wayside somewhere over the last 48 hours and have been thinking this was 2005. I even wrote it on a stack of papers that I turned in to my administration this morning. This after I crossed out "2006" and rewrote "2005" on most of them yesterday, all the while wondering WHY I kept writing "2006."
  • I am just physically, mentally and emotionally exhausted.

But as Euripides said, I must look for a positive balance, so here it is:

  • The call from the VB SPCA may be nothing more than a question about a spelling, not an indication that we are being denied the adoption.
  • Schoolwork is done.
  • Early bedtime tonight, after my darling man noticed that I was wiped out and took care of ALL the housework tonight (YEA for simple heroes!)
  • Dinner at The Melting Pot for my birthday this weekend.
  • My principal ought to get a laugh at my obvious mental lapse with dates.
  • Spring break starts April 7! (WOO-HOO!!!) And lasts for a week!
  • And finally....tomorrow is NOT a Monday.

And on that note, I'm headed to bed. Goodnight, all.
