...We say, "How high?"
We're a week away from finishing this INSURV mess. Thank goodness they only come up every 5 years. The last couple months, and the last couple weeks in particular, have been brutal. The Navy's commands on its men and women, as well as their families, during this time are completely unreasonable. 14 hour days, seven days a week, for weeks at a time. Today is FINALLY the last day of preparation. The officers and grew of the ship have decided to call it quits by 8:00 tonight. You would think, then, that this means that they can all come home for a good night's sleep before going back tomorrow morning to start the week of inspection.
Oh no.
Everybody has to stay on board tonight. Why? Because if they send everybody home, somebody might get drunk and hurt him/herself. And that might be a guy needed for tomorrow's inspection. So EVERYBODY stays.
The actual inspection starts tomorrow, which means that logically everybody would be done by 5pm and again be able to go home to their families.
Oh no.
Inspections don't necessarily occur during normal business hours, so the work day may extend to 11pm. Which means that again most will be staying on board to be able to start work at 6am the next morning.
WHO makes these decisions???
As for me, I can expect to see my husband tomorrow night.....or Thursday night.
Our next house is going to have a rubber room. Hitting my head against our concrete walls is starting to become painful. :P

Honey, our walls are drywall. And don't hit too loudly, it might make our downstairs neighbors angry.
By the Sea: Listen, you, you're the CAUSE of my head banging! You have no room to correct me. Or at least, come home and do it to my face. :P Yeah, do that.
And secondly, it would only disturb our neighbors if I bang my head on the floor. And that just ruins the whole image.
