Censored!

We live in an apartment complex. While it's a really nice community and the apartments are great, it still is...well...an apartment complex. Which means sound travels through the vents. Let me provide an example:

The couple who live above us have a little girl. Every night, they give her a bath. Usually, it's dad who does the honors. How do I know this? Because I can hear them through the vent in OUR bathroom. She giggles and splashes around, they sing "Itsy Bitsy Spider," it really is quite adorable. It makes you smile to hear them.

However, that's not the only sound that travels through the vents from neighboring apartments.

At 11:45 last night, I had just turned off the light and was falling asleep when I heard other sounds coming through the vents. In my sleepy state, my first thought was that it was a child waking up from a nightmare. It sounded like whimpering. However, the sound quickly escalated and developed a rhythm and I realized with horror (okay, and amusement), that what I was hearing was two of my neighbors enjoying their own...bedroom antics. To be honest, I'm not really bothered by this. However, it's like a car accident...once you identfy what it is, you can't help but look (or in this case, listen). That aside, her moaning escalated rapidly into yells. And those yells lasted for an HOUR! You have to give them credit. She's either an incredible faker, or he possesses incredible stamina. Either way, it was an hour before they finally collapsed into an exhausted silence and I was able to sleep.

Note to all other couples residing in SB Apartments: Be a moaner, not a yeller.
