Turf Wars

I was up, tossing and turning from 12:30 to 1:30 last night.

Kevin decided the sheets were too hot, threw them off, and then proceeded to sprawl across 3/4 of the bed.

Scarlett decided she wanted to sleep with us, so she curled up at the foot of the bed, and could not be moved.

Callie got jealous and wanted to join the party, but she's too wimpy to confront the other cat, so she carved out a spot for herself by my shoulder.

This left me with a very small portion of bed space.

After an hour of trying to contort my body around the space allotted to me by the three other snoring mammals, I finally yelled, "That's it!"

All snoring ceased. The mammals awoke. Awoke...but didn't move.

Callie jumped down when I got out of the bed. Scarlett I had to pick up and move to another spot in the living room. Kevin, upon realizing there was no crisis, rolled over, thus taking up slightly less space, and went back to sleep.

I made sure the door was shut upon returning to the bedroom.

I'm hoping something "marital" ensued because it sure would be a waste of a catless bed and a wife who was angry. Ahem. Kevin. Sleep can wait, man.
