I took a little blogging hiatus to go back to my roots. On Saturday morning, I left to drive back to
Chambersburg, PA, a stone's throw from the hometown of my college years,
Shippensburg, PA. "Fudge", a former roommate, celebrated a birthday on Sunday. Another former roomie, A., and myself, set up an English tea birthday party, complete with homemade scones. My being there was supposed to be a surprise. She became awfully curious the night before, but we managed to pull it off. The day included a fabulous lunchtime spread of ham salad and chicken salad finger sandwiches, homemade scones, clotted cream and jam, potato salad, chips, and fruit salad with pumpkin dip, topped off with a cake from the bakery at
Hershey's Chocolate World. Living near Hershey has its advantages. There is actually a bakery located at the rear of the chocolate factory. I cannot tell you the bliss that is a Hershey's chocolate and peanut butter cake. Incredible.

On Sunday, it was down to my hometown of
Hanover, PA to spend a few days with my family.
I spent much time just talking and lazing on the couch. Mom and I went to Education Station and bought stuff for our upcoming respective school years. Had dinner at
Bill Bateman's. More food satisfaction. Walked off all that good food at Lake Marburg.
I made it back in record time today, and here we are! After all that running around and socializing, I was feeling tired, so I sent Kevin out for Chinese tonight.
The next couple days will be busy rush, and then we leave for a weeklong vacation on Tuesday.
Phew! Where is this summer going?
