Holding Down the Fort

Kevin typically handles our finances. I hold the checkbook, I write the checks, but he balances, budgets and plans where to allocate our funds each month. While he's gone, however, this all falls to me. Since I have managed my own finances in the past, he trusts me. Occassionally, however, I get an email asking about a particular bill, or telling me an unexpected expenditure. I thought that I was receiving one such email this afternoon.

But, no. The email very simply stated:

Do we have the New York state quarter in our collection? If not tell me and I’ll bring it home.

So while I'm working 12 hour days and "keeping the lamplight burning," my sailor husband is concerning himself with continuing our quarter collection.

Hmmm....what's wrong with this picture?

;-)
