When I was growing up, Penn State was THE place to go. Everybody knew somebody who was an alumni or a student there.
And so is Va Tech to this area. This morning's massacre has left everybody with that sick, stomach-dropping feeling, a little stunned, and a strong desire to be close to family.
Everyone, of course, except for certain politicians and lobbyists who are already pulling out the 2nd ammendment arguments. Disgusting, when families across the state and beyond are receiving devastating news tonight.
We send our prayers to them.
"I get something out of them. When I feel down, I like to treat myself. Clothes never look any good, and food just makes me fatter, but shoes always fit." In Her Shoes ~Jennifer Weiner

Does your school have a tragedy plan? How much of it is "practiced" by the teachers? Are the students in on it or not? Ever since Beslan, I've wondered a lot about school safety here in America. Please don't reveal any operational secrets, but I am really interested in this subject. Does the presence of a military base and military families make any difference on what plan is employed?
