I've written several posts in my head over the last couple days. Then, when I sit down to write them...pfffttt! The words are gone. Maybe it's the summer lazies. Or maybe it's the constant up and down that's our daily "stuff" right now. Either way, seems as soon as I have something to say, that something changes and I have to start over again.

Work is still...up in the air. My job is stable, but that's about ALL I know about work right now. As Ruth Anne said 2 months ago when this all really started, "I'm not careless; I just care less." At this point, I don't care what the outcome is, I just want some decisions to be made so I can move on.

Same goes for our relocation this coming spring. We have an "unofficial" word, but not an "official" word. And we all know "unofficial" means absolutely nothing in this field. Speaking of which, another vacation next month (our 4th "try" this year) hangs in the balance again. Still waiting for word on that situation, too.

Did I mention I don't handle changes well?

All this is being handled with a little sangria.

Other things I'm loving right now:

Hairspray. We saw this movie on Saturday. It's laugh out loud, rolling in the aisles funny. Some of my friends have commented that John Travolta dressed as a woman is enough of a turn off to keep them away. Which is a shame, because if you didn't know it was Travolta, you'd never guess. And even if you do, this movie was too fun to miss. We recommend.

Khaled Hosseini. This author first came on the scene with The Kite Runner in 2003. I was a little late in picking up that novel, and didn't read it until this spring. I was instantly hooked by the easy writing style and the depth of characters. Then, he released his second book, A Thousand Splendid Sons in May of this year. I am currently #49 or so on the waiting list for the libraries in our city, but my father-in-law graciously bought me the book when he was here recently, and I have been devouring that one, also.

San Francisco. My best girlfriend and I leave for our "Girls Only" trip a week from today. We're staying here, which is pretty much in the center of everything. A little nervous about the travel, but looking forward to our time there.

And finally...

My new Nikon Coolpix. This was an anniverasary gift and is supposed to arrive within the next couple days, according to the DHL tracking number. We have another digital camera, which I gave to Kevin as a wedding gift, was accidentally dropped and destroyed by a tour guide a year later, and then replaced. However, he takes it with him all over the world, and I asked for one that I can use to catalogue my own adventures. Waiting somewhate impatiently.

I'll update as things change, but for now, know that we're all well, just constantly changing.

I love it when I get quoted on friends' blogs. That's too cool for a narcissist.
