Card (Sweat)Shop

Since we're down to the 11th hour, I sat down to do the handmade holiday Christmas cards this afternoon. Since I'm not motivated enough to start making cards in June, these cards go out to immediate family and my closest girlfriends only. Phew! I'm happy with the end results but feeling creatively sapped. There are pictures of my doing the cards too, but I have determined that creative does not look pretty. So check out the cards instead:

My favorite is that last one. Not really traditional Christmas colors, but I'm so pleased with the way it turned out. Very cool.

Are all of your cards one-of-a-kind works of art? Or do you generate a few prototypes and then mass produce them?

The first of our handmade cards should be arriving in the mail today. I can't wait to see what people will think of the labors of love we (you) created for them. :-)

Ruth Anne,

They're all orginals. On rare occassions I have an idea in my head of what I want the finished product to look like, but most of the time I'm just as surprised as everyone else by what comes out.

Which is why it takes forever to do just a few.
