Monday, Monday

Another week has started. I've jokingly told friends that married life is great, as I'm "single" again until August 21. My KJ has gone to New England for some "enlightening" (he says "boring") school. The fact that he's there, for this particular school is a major accomplishment and I am, of course, very proud. At the same time, having come back from the honeymoon, having a whirlwind two weeks of moving the last of my things from my old apartment, getting ID cards, getting (or trying to get) my license changed, combining bank accounts, unpacking boxes in our new place, and just generally settling in...and then saying goodbye for 3 weeks, has left me feeling frustrated and at a loss of what to do. While I'd love to go visit, the job search continues and I can't leave here until I have a position for the upcoming fall.

The job search.... To be honest, things have always sort of fallen into my lap. I did well in school all the way through college. I graduated, interviewed for a school district here, then interviewed for the principals of several schools in that district and received several job offers immediately. That doesn't mean I don't work hard. College academics definitely took hard work and effort. And my job this past year...I look back and wonder how I ever got through it. It's a wonder KJ still wanted to marry me. So I interviewed for another district, received a "highly recommended" and have interviewed and sent out my resume to probably a close to a dozen elementary positions and keep getting turned down. I don't handle this repetitive failure very well. There's a sense of letting people down. So it's a lot of "sit around and wait" as I interview and then wait for some response, only to get another negative. Still holding out hope that something will come up, but in the meantime... anybody got any job suggestions for a licensed teacher sans position?

We shall see what this week holds.
