It's hard, at this time of year especially, for me to do things on the spur of the moment. We're in the final push before the holiday season, which is a hectic time of the school year and it seems like everybody needs SOMETHING done before you can call it quits for the Christmas break. So Kevin and I have alot of things on this "we should do this" list, and not a lot of time to actually do them. Part of this comes from my not having the type of job that ends when I leave the workplace. There's always lessons to plan, papers to grade, evaluations to fill out, etc. So when Kevin asked me on Sunday night to go see The Polar Express in 3-D at the IMAX theater, I had to turn him down because I had too much to do. We agreed, instead, to go tonight and I cleared out of school as soon as my faculty meeting was over this afternoon.
The movie was well worth the wait. The 3-D was an added bonus to an already endearing story. Well worth the cost of the tickets. The theater wasn't crowded and it was just a nice "Christmas-y" thing to do.
We came back here and I cleaned up the kitchen and living room and now it's to bed to take just a few minutes to relax and wind down before falling asleep and starting another day tomorrow. The time right before bed is my favorite time of day. That....and that time when you wake up and realize you have another hour to sleep before the alarm goes off.
