A Mail Call of My Own

As the "Christmas Crunch" descends up on us, Kevin and I made our list of things that HAVE to be done before we head out of town on Friday. You know, little things...like....buy last minute gifts, mail a few more packages, send out Christmas cards....those "little" things. Looking at the list, we quickly realized that we could not accomplish all this today without dividing up the tasks. With that in mind, I wrapped the last of the Christmas gifts and then Kevin headed out to put the packages in the mail and to pick up those last few gifts on our list. That left me with the Christmas cards. Now, you may be thinking, "that seems awfully unbalanced." It took me three hours. This is more than I've ever spent in the past. I have a relatively small family and so my contribution to this year's Christmas card list was fairly modest in number. I recently, however, married into a large, close, extensive family...hence our total Christmas card list totals about 60. Of which I wrote 45. This is, to me, a staggering and somewhat humorous number. Just another change of many that have occurred lately. But a good one, too.

The feeling of satisfaction is nicej. Our shopping is done, the gifts wrapped and under the tree, the cards sent out and our plans to leave Friday finalized. I can breathe a little (too soon?) sigh of relief.

*sigh*
