This week was the last week of the 3rd grading period AND the last week before spring break, which has meant lots of work and long hours. Last night, I was finishing up the last of my grading, still at school, at around 5:00. I had given my kids a weekly quiz that day that contained an analogy. We had discussed this particular analogy, but my kids seemed to have a hard time remembering the correct response on the quiz. One child, in particular, studied the question for a long time, finally carefully writing a response. I collected the test without looking at her response until I did my grading last night:
Q: ewe : sheep :: doe : _____________________
A: donut

I used to give half credit if the answer made me laugh out loud. At least you're encouraging creativity and humor.
Have fun at the Joseph show.
