Bumps and Bruises

It's been a day of bumps and bruises, but not of the typical type.

First, I learned through the grapevine (and later confirmed), that the woman I was to team-teach with this year may not be returning in the fall. She's in a difficult situation and my heart goes out to her and her family. Still, her move could make life real interesting of the next few weeks. I should know for sure by this weekend. Patience is not something that comes easily to me.

Then, Kevin and I were stopped at a stop sign. The guy behind us, on his cell phone, wasn't paying attention and bumped into us. Fortunately, no damage was done to either vehicle and all is well. He sounded like that was just one more item in a long list of things that had happened to ruin today. He swore that he was going straight home before anything else could happen. I feel for him, too, though if he had damaged the car, my sympathy for his bad day would have stopped at letting him skip out of repairs.

I'm left feeling like I need a mug of hot chai and a good book. Luckily, bumps and bruises, including the emotional kind, are minor and heal quickly. Tomorrow is another day.

I'm sorry that I'm all out of hot chai. But how about hot guy?

I bet that will help.
