Yesterday was the
Wine Festival at Town Point Park. This is the second year I've attended this event and it's always a great time. They have wine vendors from all over Virginia and from 11-5 they offer tastings. Yesterday, the weather cooperated and we had a nice fall day. My of eight all chipped in to rent a linen covered table on the lawn and then brought a spread of food to share. We would sample several vineyards, buy a bottle, then come back to the table to share it and regroup before sampling several other vineyards.
By 5:00, we were all feeling a little light on our feet, so we dropped the bottles off at the car and headed to
Scotty Quixx for dinner. This part of the day was rather disappointing. The food was expensive, but not of great quality and the service was horrible. I wouldn't go back. We stayed, though, until 8:30, taking the time to eat a full meal and sober up before attempting to drive home.
