Dirty Little Secret

And this time it's not laundry on the dining room table. Or my hatred for cleaning bathrooms. Can you guess? Here's a hint-

I am a holiday junkie. It first really hit my after work yesterday. All week our student council, of which I am co-chair, has been collecting canned goods for our annual canned food drive. After school yesterday, my 6-month pregnant coworker and myself collected, counted and boxed all the cans. This basically means that I collected, counted and boxed 510 cans and she supervised.

Some people will do anything to get out of doing work...

But! The canned food drive really jump-started that "Ooh, it's coming!" feeling inside.

As did the new Josh Groban Christmas cd that arrived in the mail three weeks ago.

And the sending out of invitations to the early December holiday party we're hosting.

And the short week this coming week due to the holidays.

Ahem.

But the rule growing up was "No Christmas until after Thanksgiving."

So...I'm trying. But I'll be bringing all my cds when we travel for Thanksgiving. And you can bet we'll be listening to them aaaaaaallllllll the way home.

Even I, a hardliner, am weakening. To us Catholics, it's only ADVENT until December 24th. Then, we get a good few weeks of Christmas. But it's never when the rest of the world seems interested.

Try just Advent music until at least OL Guadalupe Day [Dec. 12th] and see if that doesn't improve the performance of Christmas...
